Harvest Feast October 22, 2008
Cold and
rainy weather didn't hamper Saint Patrick School's Harvest Feast 2008.
Third-grade students, dressed
in Native American costumes, canoed down Beaver Brook, where they were greeted by the second-grade Pilgrims.
After a
welcoming ceremony, everybody shared a traditional Thanksgiving meal that included turkey, corn bread, and cranberry sauce.
The annual event is an opportunity for students to learn about the Pilgrims' feast in 1621, after their first
harvest, which is the feast that today we often refer to as "The First Thanksgiving."
